It is a new year. A fresh dawn for everything new; new ideas, fresh starts, new beginnings. It is a clean slate without offences, guiles etc. So on this fresh note, start your year. (You can see the video version of this here- https://youtu.be/tc2HNTSml2A)
You can start by envisioning what you would want your year to look like. Write it down. You can include your leftovers of last year. They can be the first line item in your list, then decide on how you intend to accomplish those plans. Consider your plan realistically., so they don’t end up as one of those new year resolutions we forget even before the year starts fully.
Do you have the capacity to realize these plans, if yes, good, if No, what can you do to equip yourself . What is the step by step process to overcome this lack of capacity. Go to the next item on your list, break it down and do this for the rest of your plans. Writing down your plans makes it more real to you, it also helps you understand what you really want to do, it filters out the wishes and leaves you with a more realistic material to work with.
Do not be in a hurry to execute, simply use this period to figure out what you really want to do. Continue with the works already in progress, then gradually move on to the goals you have set for this year. Avoid the temptation of tagging them ” New year resolution”. Chances are that it will put you under some pressure to do something for the new year which you may end up not doing. Simply take it easy, one step at a time, and gradually accomplish your set plans and goals.
Have a blessed 2026!
