Give it a second look

Two individuals engage in a lively book discussion in a cozy library setting.

Stop giving people excuses when you have made a decision to do or refrain from doing certain activities. You should be proud of your stand no matter how unconventional it may seem to be people. When you give excuses or over-explain the reasons you took the stand you took, you will come across to people as not being not sure of yourself or the decision you made. To avoid being seen as an unsure person, learn to do the following before or after making a major decision. (You can see the video version of this here-https://youtu.be/pbPeOgnWirg )

One, ensure you do your research and find out the reason why either this or that would work or not work. Be sure you have considered all sides of the argument. Take a position based on the result of your research. Once you have made your decision, stick with it. Be ready to defend it wherever you are called upon to defend your position.

Two, do not make the mistake of thinking you have seen all there is to that work. While you are sure about your decision, allow other people to express their thoughts or positions. Listen to all sides, you may be surprised to learn something new you did not see in the course of your investigations.

Three, if you find out a new information, re-examine your current stand, find out whether that new information is sufficient to make you change your position. If it has, do not be afraid to admit the flaws in your earlier position. Be confident to express your new position.

Finally, no matter how superior you think your knowledge or findings are, respect other people’s effort/output even if they don’t come close to yours

It’s a new week, be open to new ideas, new stands, positions or just something different from your normal view. Make the best out of them!

Have a blessed week!
