Trust Your Gut

Trust your instinct. If you feel something isn’t right, it is probably because something is wrong. Investigate it. It may probably be nothing after you have made your findings, but it is better to be safe than sorry. (You can see the video version of this here- https://youtu.be/hVQBHXqRoxk)

It very important for everyone to understand the need to be circumspect. Being extra sure before finalizing a deal, making a commitment or passing a judgement. This entails doing more checks as the ultimate decision maker in a group or an establishment. Your decision carries weight, may even change the course of the life of some people, so having the weight of that office or position means you should be double sure before signing that paper or making a final decision.

The need to be careful does not only apply to people with big responsibilities or people overseeing the large corporations. It is for everyone. Imagine signing a deal without examining documents governing the execution of that contract, imagine committing to providing some services without being sure you can provide the services in question. So, it doesn’t matter which position you are occupying, as long as you are breathing, you must be careful and be in your full faculties before taking a final stand on any matter at all.

Remember if you think something isn’t right despite having cross-checked everything, reserve that final decision for later. Sometimes, the missing piece reveals itself when you step away, have a rest, or seek good counsel from experienced people in the right circumstances.

Have a good week.
