Pause. Have a re-think before you make a major decision. Do not be in a hurry, do not allow yourself to be pressured into taking a decision you are not ready for. I can understand when there are deadlines to be met and all that, but even at that, only make major decisions when you are in the right frame of mind. (You can see the video version of this here – https://youtu.be/ajULb2pxlzs)
When you give your word to someone, ensure that you are ready to stand by your words or any representation you have made. This is why you have to be in the best frame of mind when you are taking major decisions. Nobody would say “oh he wasn’t feeling fine, when he said this, or that or he didn’t mean that”. Your words especially when expressed in a permanent form would always be taken literally. So, it does not matter that you made that decision in a hurry or that you did that when you were under pressure, it would always be seen as you making that decision. In situations where there are consequences to be borne, you may not be able to deny the liability that your representations may have caused. So, be careful, circumspect and prudent when it comes to making major decisions especially when it relates to matters that may affect other people and not just you!
Planning is a weapon that makes you prepared for certain events. If you know that you are required to perform a major task, amid other small ones, planning your timetable in such a way that you are better prepared for the major task will help you achieve your goals better, it will also make you a better decision maker. To avoid dying minute decisions or major lapses in your works, adopt a planning habit. Always use a planner, organize your activities for the day and prioritize your workload according to their level of importance. I can assure you, you will see a great improvement in your output.
This is a new week, work on your lapses, adopt a better approach to work, life and everything in general. You would be glad you did!
Have a great week!
